Viva la revolution

Go and grab your weapons, we are declaring war on information silos and we need you. This is the revolution. For some time, these information silos have been laying dormant, waiting for their time to strike. That time is now and it is hurting us all. Have you ever felt like you can’t find the internal information you are after to do your work properly? Have you ever spent hours in meetings just to realise that you spent your entire time either letting other people know what is going on or being told vital information that you should have known weeks ago? Guess what, information silos have struck you!

The good news is that there is a remedy. It is not 100% magic, it isn’t 100% formula, but it is a concoction of many factors. It’s 20% technology, 30% culture, 30% process and a dash of risk. CluedIn by itself is not the solution. We are helping with the technology part, the culture part and the process part but we are not the whole solution.

From the technology perspective we help by allowing a technical solution to connecting to your data. However this is only one of the barriers to breaking down information silos. We still need workers to want to break down information silos. Put simple, CluedIn allows you to identify all the places that data is stored in the workplace and then give you the option to connect it to CluedIn.

We also help n the culture part as well. Imagine you are a team lead, a manager, a managing director or a CEO. Imagine walking into you company tomorrow morning and exclaiming to your workplace “We are a company, and I think it is important that you all know what I know as we need to operate as a team, not as a group of individuals. Because of this we are going to install CluedIn which will allow an organic and natural flow of information for everyone to see”. I don’t know about you, but I would get the instant feeling of “I am part of a bigger thing”. Company culture is nothing to sneeze at, in fact it can sometimes be the most important part of a workplace. You can’t force company culture, it comes from the people, it comes from the products you are building, the community around your product and it comes from how you work. I will put my neck on the line and say that I can almost guarantee that if you were to inform your workforce that you preference open sharing over closed then you will get some immediate cultural wins.

We also like to think that we play a very small part in the process part of breaking down information silos. Why? Because a lot of the time, we don’t know the processes because of information silos, because of the hierarchical nature of businesses. Sometimes, all we want to know is “where to start”. However this in itself seems a very hard thing to know in workplaces today. We solve this by meeting with people, by contacting people and searching for the answers. This…is not process. This is chaos. CluedIn allows you to not only search across your company, but more importantly we do all the work to serve you up the content you need, when you need it. We are hoping in fact that you should never have to search your workplace again.

Join the revolution, it only takes a few small movers to influence the masses. You can be one of those small few today at https://www.cluedin.net
